MomoCon is proud to offer Adventurers League, the D&D 5th edition organized play campaign. www.dnd.wizards.com/ddal_general
Dungeons & Dragons is the world’s most popular role-playing game. D&D is about storytelling in worlds of sword and sorcery. D&D gives structure to the stories, a way of determining the consequences of the adventurers’ action. Players roll dice to resolve whether their attacks hit or miss or whether their adventurers can scale a cliff, roll away from the strike of a magical lightning bolt, or pull off some other dangerous task. Anything is possible, but the dice make some outcomes more probable than others. In D&D, each player creates an adventurer (also called a character) and teams up with other adventurers (played by friends). Working together, the group might explore a dark dungeon, a ruined city, a haunted castle, a lost temple deep in a jungle, or a lava-filled cavern beneath a mysterious mountain. The adventurers can solve puzzles, talk with other characters, battle fantastic monsters, and discover fabulous magic items and other treasure.
Technically not played on a table, but no less important, MomoCon is happy to welcome back several LARP events during the evenings! LARP (Live Action Role Playing) is an interactive game where the participants portray the characters through physical action, costume and/or props. We offer LARPs for all ages, some kid-specific, some restricted to only older audiences.
Our Deduction Gaming department focuses on running hidden role games that require you to use social cues and deduction. Many of our games are geared towards deceit and deception can often gain you the upper hand. If you enjoy online games such as Among Us or Town of Salem, then come join us for that same type of game style in person at Momocon!

Two Rooms and a Boom |

---|---|---|---|
Ultimate Werewolf is a hidden role game in which the Village team and the Werewolf team are battling for survival. It plays much like Mafia or Town of Salem, with eliminations being the key tool in getting rid of the other team. The Village team can only secure their victory when all Werewolves are eliminated, while the Werewolves only need to survive until parity. Do you have what it takes to survive? Come join us for this exciting game of wits and deception! |
Another game of the hidden roles fashion, Blood on the Clocktower boasts significant changes from the original concept: 1) players who are eliminated get to remain in the game as ghosts with speaking and voting power 2) all players have a role with some type of special ability 3) Certain conditions allow even moderators to take action in the deception! This game remains one of the most thought provoking and brain challenging games in our department. |
Two Rooms and a Boom is a quickly-paced social game that takes place across two rooms. The focus is between two teams with opposing goals, and all players are split evenly between the rooms. During each round, you must communicate and exchange information to establish trust and find your allies, and how you work together can turn the tides in your team’s favor. This game is relatively 15-25 minutes long. Do you think you can assist your team to victory? |
MegaGames are huge games with a bit of everything — role playing, combat mechanics, tech trees, bluffing, negotiation — but unlike most games, they’re mostly driven by you, the player. The umpires, called the “Control Team,” will be on hand to answer questions and come up with rulings that your creativity inspires. Even though your character will have motivations, agendas and goals laid out for you, megagames allow you to invent your own win conditions and pursue those as well.
MomoCon 2025 will feature two Megagames available for signup with reserved tickets (get tickets here!): Den of Wolves and Deephaven.
Den of Wolves is a sci-fi game about difficult political, military and survival choices in a long-term crisis scenario onboard a refugee fleet. Players will take on the roles of starship captains, officers, and engineers, as well as politicians and civilian leaders — but some of the players may not be who they seem! The game has a focus on managing resources, as well as various units and assets — however, talking and negotiating with other players will be crucial in order to achieve success. The game also seeks to represent political and military systems, and their decisions, and so players should expect some political simulation… and some backstabbing! Fans of Battlestar Galactica, The Expanse, and other sci-fi series will find a lot to love in Den of Wolves.
Come to Deephaven! This megagame is about overly-ambitious dwarves building a new city fortress. Players will delve deep (& greedily) into the mountain to discover unique resources, forge legendary weapons, develop thriving trade and culture, and fight back against the many dangers they uncover! Each player will belong to a craft guild (such as Miner, Merchant, Farmer, Brewer, Architect, etc.), a cultural community, and a family lineage, all of which provide multiple avenues for glory and conflict. The game will feature a variety of mechanics, including resource management, crafting, trade, and combat. Players will have to work together to build a new home for all Dwarves, but they will also have the opportunity to pursue their own goals and ambitions. If you’re a Lord of the Rings fan or have played colony sim games such as Dwarf Fortress – or you absolutely adore playing Jenga – then Deephaven is the game for you!
